You have reached the virtual domain and gaming hideout of Fury the Gamer. As you might have guessed, this is not my real name, my real name is Henrik and I don't care if everybody knows it, what gives ? Using an alias used to be so nineties in the noughties but now that it's post-2010 again, I reckon it will be cool again soon.
Now, before I give you the pleasure of summing up my exciting history, a nice little disclaimer for all you ugly trolls and idiots out there (you know if it's you I am talking about) - I don't care what you think about the way I dress, that my English is bad, that I wear nail polish, that I don't consider myself part of the gaming 'scene', that I only play PC games, that I drink coffee for the taste and not the caffeine, that I am not gay but think men are sexy, that I am awesome and an effin' moron at the same time. Ah,that's better.I decided to start this blog because I love gaming and especially thinking about gaming. I am an anthropologist and media researcher and interested in game and motivation theory, therefore, gaming and the industry in general interest me. That being said, I have no gamer friends and everyone around me thinks I am a stupid fucking nerd for gaming, so all I have is you guys and the vast Internet to share my thoughts and discuss things, so cut me some digital slag.
I was born in Cologne and moved to London to study and work.
I grew up coming and games before I could walk. I played the old Atari 2600 games, my favourite being River Raid, Outlaw and Stampede. Yee-ha, quite the affinity for the Wild West I see. Me and my brothers (and my gamer dad) moved on violating the joysticks of our C64 and Amiga systems until I finally settled with the PC system, my system of choice, there is something about a mouse and a keyboard that makes me feel like I am feeling up Scarlett Johanssen right after she leaves the shower (not that I have by the way). I venture into console territory quite a lot when I was younger, we had a Super Nintendo (awesome brother!), Sega Saturn (not so awesome), N64 (better again !). My brother swore off the PC and is a Playstation man, while I stopped being into consoles altogether. It is a matter of choice, the PC system is the best for me, I am not saying that consoles are worse or rubbish, each to his or her own. I am not interested in System Wars, that is for the puny peasants of gaming out there, not for me, I move in higher circles of consciousness, that reminds me, I need to go to the toilet, be right back.
You may have noticed, I can be a bit sarcastic sometimes (O Rly?) and my English can be perfect and flawless when I am at work and am surrounded by boring farts and tarts but here, in the privacy of my own home, I could not care less.
I love all kinds of games and played probably most of them, I am not a big fan of racing games unless they come with a twist, like NFS: Hot Pursuit or Carmageddon (racing game, year right). RTS games are also not my cup of tea. I love adventure games, RPGs and FPS games, those are my games of choice as well as casual and indie games (platformers etc.).
I am based in London, spend most of my time gaming, reading, learning, boardgaming, being with my friends, watching films. Sometimes in a full moon, I get off my tits on booze and drugs and go out dancing, but not so often because I need to recover from the mayhem for about a week or two.
Any more questions ? Good ! Feel free to contact me, haters gonna hate but independent gaming blogger is independent so I am doing a total John Cena on you fellas.
